2018 Herd Management (updated one coming soon)

2018s plan,

the plan for this year is no worms and no problems ( isn't that for every goat owner)

last's year was a problem year for parasites, and lots of weight lost in a lot of our does, that's why this year is going to be a lot different mainly with our management. And this is how.

Kids will be with their moms the first one to two weeks of age, then they will be put on a bucket milker. their milk will be whole cows milk mixed with yogurt.

will be fed 3 times a day the first 1~2 months of age, and all the milk they want

at one week of age they will be disbudded

will be on alfalfa mix hay.

at one month they will receive a light dewormer

at two months they will be given BO-SE.

at three months they will be given valbazen and a 4 gram copper boluses

at four months they get BO-SE and valbazen.

as of right now I will not breed a kids innless they weigh 90~100 pounds at the day of breeding.

after that I move on to the adult goat program.

they get a copper bolus twice a year at 12.5 grams= 25 grams a year.

and a BO-SE shot twice a year

they always have free choice

* water

* goat mineral

* a iron block( it has other stuff in it but manly iron)

* a sulfur block

*baking soda

*kelp ( put out once a week)

And we are starting this year with, having a herb garden out so they can self medicate.
